POSITION: WEST COAST SALES ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with expertise in hydronic systems, renewable energy, and climate control solutions.
This is an outside sales role where you will collaborate closely with the Inside Sales Team to provide exceptional service to our customers and dealers across the western territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Sales & Account Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, building owners, contractors, and manufacturers’ reps.
- Drive engineering specifications to secure Basis of Design (BOD) approvals.
- Assist in product selections and pricing strategies for customers, ensuring value-focused solutions.
- Prepare detailed proposals and estimates for equipment and projects, with an emphasis on cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
- Support business development teams in identifying and securing new business opportunities, prospecting for new engineering clients and projects.
- Manage a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment issues.
- Work closely with the Inside Sales Team to ensure smooth coordination, accurate pricing, and effective problem resolution.
- Technical Expertise & Support:
- Provide technical advice on hydronic installations, renewable energy systems, fan coils, and low voltage HVAC systems.
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and contractors to assist in the design-build process and resolve any technical issues that arise.
- Provide detailed evaluations of competitive products to communicate the value of our solutions to stakeholders.
- Perform project site visits to monitor progress and provide feedback.
- Stay up to date on the latest product technologies and industry standards (LEED, ASHRAE, Ontario Building Code).
- Sales & Project Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams (management, sales, purchasing, accounting) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in industry networking events, client meetings, and training sessions to foster business development and continuous learning.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide periodic forecasts as required.
- Train new sales employees and assist with internal training sessions.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in HVAC technical sales or engineering, with a focus on hydronics, renewable energy, and climate control.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage stress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CRM software.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (P.Eng or working towards it) is preferred but not required.
- LEED certification is an asset, and a desire to continually learn and implement new technologies is essential.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across the region, with occasional overnight stays.
